THE TWENTY-SECOND DAY OF JULY IN THE YEAR OF GRACE TWO THOUSAND AND FIFTEEN.

CAN JESUS SURVIVE RELIGION?

One of the great strengths of the Christian faith has been its ability to endure, accommodate, and use the cultural shifts across the centuries without losing its essence. Even in its most misguided forms, the Christian religion has continued to pass along its central message about Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection. People in the most abysmal of churches in the most corrupt of cultures still have been counted among the redeemed. There were people in a church Jesus pronounced “dead” whose names were still in his Book of Life (cf. Revelation 3:1-6). They had been granted divine favor on account of God’s great love and in spite of church inadequacies.

NEW CWP CLASSES

“Coffee With Paul,” Dr Gary D Collier’s advanced studies program for adults, has announced the following upcoming Bible, Greek, and other classes via internet:

1. CWP is about to start a new 4-week-only “NT Greek as a Spiritual Discipline” class on August 8th. Gary Collier will teach this class. This is a real opportunity for readers of the Bible to deepen their understanding of and appreciation for language, translations, and more. And it gives them a chance to stick their toes in the water to see if they want to jump in for more.

2. We will then follow that (for our fourth year in a row) with a full 10 months of “NT Greek for Everyday People”: starting on Sept 12th. This class is taught by Patrick Spicer, and is as good or better than any college class I have ever seen. The author of our textbook, David Alan Black, has given this class high praise. This is an amazing approach. Go to: coffeewithpaul.com/greek

3. Right now, we are having LIVE Classes (free and open to everyone!) on the topic “Paul and Greece”, only 15 minutes LIVE every Thursday. These are taught by amateur archaeologist Dr. Michael Wilkinson, archaeologist and author Dr. Richard Davies, and director of CWP, Dr. Gary D. Collier. The classes are recorded LIVE and can be seen at: biblicalconversation.net (just click the picture to see the recordings). Some attend these LIVE, more watch the videos.

4. Then next April 7, 2016, we’re heading for Greece with the same complement of teachers! One can choose either 9 days or 17 days. There will be teaching galore on the trip. The previous class (#3) is designed to help us get ready for that trip: Go to: coffeewithpaul.com (then scroll down).
